A young family wanted to transform their concrete‭, ‬overgrown urban garden into a low-maintenance‭, ‬beautiful space for entertaining and play‭. ‬

A small space, the challenge was to maximise planting whilst also bringing functionality to the garden.

Big planting beds come up to the house‭ and a cantilevered bench allows a greater sense of space‭. ‬The planting works hard with bulbs‭, ‬grasses and multi-stem trees giving year-round interest‭.‬

The dominant back wall is artfully disguised with tall‭, ‬yet light‭, ‬trees‭. ‬The concreted front garden has been transformed into a gravel garden with an ever changing sea of colour and texture‭.‬
